Tequila Sunrise
“Sitting on The Wright Bar patio sipping an original Tequila Sunrise is the perfect way to end the day,” says Dolan Olson, Bar Manager at Wright’s at The Biltmore. “Arizona Biltmore, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, provides such a quiet and peaceful setting that you don’t realize you’re in the heart of bustling central Phoenix.”

“While unwinding in front of the outdoor fireplace, watching the evening colors dance across Piestewa Peak, it is easy to be taken back to the golden days when the Tequila Sunrise was first created in the 1930s. Gene Sulit, an Arizona Biltmore bartender, debuted a new drink for a loyal guest who asked to try something original with his favorite liquor, tequila. A perfect blend of cassis, fresh lime and soda was a refreshing take on the Southwest’s most famous spirit, blue agave tequila, and the Tequila Sunrise was born.”

The Paloma
“At Adobe Grill, Cinco de Mayo is celebrated year-round with the Paloma,” says bartender Eduardo Flores. “A delicious combination of sweet and tart, it’s one of Mexico’s, and La Quinta Resort & Club, A Waldorf Astoria Resort’s, most popular cocktails. The classic Paloma combines Jose Cuervo Tradicional Tequila Reposado and freshly squeezed lime juice with a natural grapefruit element from the citrusy and slightly sweet Jarritos, a traditional Mexican soda. If a guest loves a good margarita, we encourage them to give the Paloma a try. It’s the perfect light and refreshing drink to enjoy after a day under the California sun and best enjoyed basking in the glow of our Spanish desert nights.”

Rosé, Rosé, Rosé
“Once people try this spectacular drink, they keep coming back for more. It’s very popular on the menu at Monkey Bar. This cocktail combines a couple
of great tasting liqueurs—Rosé Tequila, Lillet Rosé—and is topped with rosé Champagne. We have a beautiful bocce garden attached to the bar, with areas where you can sit and enjoy the drink as the sun starts to set, and of course, play a game of bocce.”

Luxury Summer Cocktail
“This tropical cocktail, which pays homage to the amazing climate in Panama, is inspired by a classic sour but has a lot more personality given the unique characteristics of the base liquor. We use an eight-year-old whiskey, add honey to soften the flavor, green apple for a citrus touch and cinnamon for aroma. This is then left for 30 days under a blanket of darkness so that all the ingredients amalgamate. Once the liquor has been prepared, we add fresh lime juice, gum syrup infused with star anise, egg white and two bitters. Again, we reference the classic sour, as the technique helps us enhance the characteristics of our liquor. All these ingredients are mixed to create our exquisite and refreshing Luxury Summer Cocktail.”
